Aluminium Pergolas

At Apex Verandas, we design, supply and fit aluminium pergolas with a louvered roof that tilts for shade and closes for rain. The blades rotate so you control how much sun and air comes through, which keeps the patio usable whatever the day is doing.

We fit aluminium pergolas across Northern Ireland and Ireland, from Ballymoney down to Cork and Carlow.

What is an aluminium pergola?

An aluminium pergola is a freestanding or wall-mounted structure with an adjustable roof. The louvered blades rotate so you can let air and light through or close them flat to keep the rain off, with the water running to integrated guttering. It is far more flexible than a fixed canopy, and it suits our changeable weather.

Why a louvered roof

You get shade when you want it and open sky when you do not, at the turn of a handle. Add LED lighting or side screens and the space works into the evening and through the cooler months. Powder-coated aluminium does not rot, warp or rust like timber, and it holds its colour with almost no upkeep.

Pergola or veranda?

If you mainly want adjustable shade over a patio, a pergola is ideal. If you want a permanent glass roof against the house, look at our folding roof verandas or aluminium verandas. Not sure which fits? We will tell you straight.

Common questions

What does an aluminium pergola cost?
It depends on size, roof type and extras like lighting or screens. We quote a fixed price after measuring, with no pressure to proceed.

Will it keep the rain off?
Yes. With the louvres closed, rain runs off to built-in guttering, so the space underneath stays dry.

Do I need planning permission?
Usually a pergola is permitted development, but size and position matter. We will check with you before anything is ordered.
